Privacy policy
Effective date: 29 October 2026
This privacy policy explains how Gold Class Transport collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information when you visit goldclasstransport.com.au, ask for a quote or book with us.
Gold Class Transport is operated by Jarrod John Maric, a sole trader (ABN 42 559 358 765), trading as Gold Class Transport and Gold Class Bus & Coach Charters ("we", "us" or "our"). We are based in Sydney, NSW.
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
1. What personal information we collect
Personal information is information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable.
Quote and enquiry forms
When you ask for a party bus quote, we collect:
- your name, phone number and email address;
- the occasion, date and group size;
- pickup and drop-off times;
- pickup and drop-off addresses or locations; and
- anything else you add in the notes field, such as stops along the way or a theme.
When you ask for a transfer, such as an airport transfer, we collect:
- your name, phone number and email address;
- pickup and drop-off addresses or locations;
- the date, pickup time, number of passengers and amount of luggage;
- any notes you add; and
- the estimated distance and fare shown on the page when you sent the request.
Please don't include sensitive information, such as health information, in the notes field unless it is needed for your trip (for example, an accessibility need). If you do include it, you consent to us using it to plan your trip.
Instant transfer estimate
Our transfers page can give an instant estimate based on distance. To work out the distance, the pickup and drop-off locations you type are sent from your browser to third-party mapping services (see section 4). We don't store the locations you type into the estimate unless you then send us a transfer request.
Bookings and communications
If you contact us or make a booking, we keep:
- your emails, messages and call details;
- the booking details, such as dates, times, locations and group size; and
- the information we need to send quotes and invoices, take payment and keep business records.
If you book on behalf of a group, we may also receive details about other passengers, such as the group size or a contact on the day. Please only share other people's details where they are happy for you to do so.
Technical information
When you visit our website, our hosting provider automatically processes technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of your visit. This is needed to deliver the website and keep it secure.
2. How we collect personal information
We collect personal information directly from you when you fill in a form on our website, email or call us, message us on social media, or make a booking. We may also receive it from a person who books on your behalf.
You can make a general enquiry without giving your name. However, we need your contact details and trip details to give you a quote or take a booking.
3. Why we use personal information
We use personal information to:
- respond to enquiries and prepare quotes;
- plan, confirm and run bookings and transfers;
- contact you about your booking, including on the day;
- issue invoices, take payment and keep business and tax records;
- improve our website and services;
- keep our website, vehicles and business secure and prevent misuse;
- send marketing, where permitted (see section 7); and
- meet our legal obligations and resolve disputes.
We only use or disclose personal information for these purposes, for related purposes you would reasonably expect, with your consent, or where the law requires or allows it.
4. Who we share personal information with
We use trusted service providers to run our website and business. They may handle personal information on our behalf:
- Netlify: website hosting and website forms. Quote and transfer requests sent through our website are received and stored by Netlify Forms and forwarded to our business email.
- Google Workspace: business email.
- Mapping services for the instant transfer estimate: the locations you type are sent from your browser to Photon (photon.komoot.io) and, if needed, Nominatim (nominatim.openstreetmap.org) to find them on a map. Their map coordinates are sent to the OSRM routing service (router.project-osrm.org) to calculate the road distance. These services are run by third parties and use OpenStreetMap data.
We may also disclose personal information:
- to drivers or other operators who help deliver your booking;
- to our professional advisers, such as accountants, insurers and lawyers, where reasonably necessary;
- to government agencies, police or regulators where the law requires or allows it; and
- to anyone else with your consent.
We do not sell personal information.
5. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia. Netlify is based in the United States. Google stores email in data centres that may be in the United States and other countries. The mapping services used for the transfer estimate are operated outside Australia.
Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take reasonable steps to make sure it is handled in line with the APPs.
6. Cookies, analytics and advertising
Our website code does not currently set cookies, use browser storage, or use analytics or advertising tools.
In future, we may use analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use our website, and advertising tools, such as Google Ads and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) ads, to show our ads and measure how they perform. These tools may use cookies, pixels and similar technologies to collect information such as the pages you visit, the device and browser you use, your approximate location and how you arrived at our website. The providers may use this information under their own privacy policies.
Before we add these tools, we will update this policy to name them.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. You can also manage ad personalisation in your Google Ad Settings (adssettings.google.com) and your Meta ad preferences, and opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).
7. Marketing
We will only send you marketing messages, such as offers or news, where we are allowed to under the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every marketing email or SMS will include a simple way to unsubscribe. You can also ask us at any time to stop sending you marketing by contacting us.
Messages about your quote or booking are not marketing, and we will still send them if you unsubscribe.
8. Social media
We have an Instagram account (@goldclass_partybus) and may have other social media pages. If you contact or follow us there, the platform handles your information under its own privacy policy. We will see what you choose to share with us, such as your profile name and messages.
9. Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, change or disclosure. These steps include using reputable providers that encrypt data in transit, and limiting access to people who need it.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, including to meet tax, accounting and other legal requirements. When we no longer need it, we take reasonable steps to delete it or de-identify it.
No website or email service is completely secure. If a data breach is likely to cause serious harm, we will act quickly to contain it and notify affected people and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) where the law requires it.
10. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days. We may need to confirm your identity first.
If we refuse a request, we will tell you why, where it is reasonable to do so, and how to complain.
11. Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first using the details below. We will try to respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner:
